Orthodontics in Dartmouth

Invisalign

The traditional treatment for crooked teeth or occlusion issues such as overbite has been metal braces. Invisalign provides an alternative – clear plastic aligners that can be removed when needed and which are almost invisible while they’re being worn. Patients who aren’t comfortable with the thought of wearing braces may prefer Invisalign.

Orthodontic treatment involves repositioning the teeth into proper alignment. Invisalign works the same way as braces but instead of wires and elastics it uses plastic aligners that you wear over your teeth. The aligners are designed to gently realign your teeth as you wear them. The aligners are changed regularly with each new set being slightly different so over time your teeth are guided back into the right positions.

Invisalign treatment takes approximately two years, depending on your situation.

Metal Braces

Metal braces are the traditional method of straightening teeth and remain an effective treatment option. Depending on the type and amount of correction you require, the treatment period is approximately two years. You will need to visit our office regularly so we can check your progress and make any necessary adjustments to your braces.
